Round 6: The final match of the league saw 3 teams in with a chance of winning the title and with a good draw the Allan’s Marine Shop team won the day with 40 points and a first and third placed angler. This wasn’t enough to stop the Allan’s Marine Blacks from retaining the title though with their 36 points on the day they managed to keep enough space between them and the chasing teams to finish the league with 211 points. Fishy Paul Brindley (Allan’s Marine) won the day with a carp net weighing 79lbs 11ozs with fish up to 8lbs. Brindley was on peg 1 and he knew that this is a noted big fish peg and made no mistake fishing paste and cat meat along the reeds. Runner up was Tony Butler (Thames Angling) who managed a mixed net of skimmers and carp for 56lbs 7ozs just ahead of Allan Watson (Allan’s Marine) with 55lbs 7ozs. Results: 1st Paul Brindley (Allan’s Marine Shop) 79-11-0, 2nd Tony Butler (Thames Angling) 56-7-0, 3rd Allan Watson (Allan’s Marine Shop) 55-6-0, 4th Ian Covey (Bordon Angling) 45-7-0. Teams on the day: 1st Allan’s Marine Shop 40pts, 2nd Bowsaw Bandits 39pts, 3rd Allan’s Marine Black 36pts, 4th Sensas Bordon 32pts. Final League Placings: 1st Allan’s Marine Black 211pts, 2nd Sensas Bordon 208pts, 3rd Allan’s Marine Shop 202pts. |
