Avon Valley Summer League

Round 5: Broadlands 21th August 2005

Round 5: The penultimate round of the Avon Valley Summer league was spread over two lakes at Broadlands. The winner Mark Archer drew peg 15 on the the match lake and caught 35lbs of carp and 11lbs of roach and skimmers on pellet and corn for 46-11-0. Paul Hiller, peg 29 on the match lake caught 24lbs of carp and 4lbs of roach and skimmers for 28-13-0 on pellet and worm.

In the overall Team event the two runaway leaders swopped positions yet again. This time Bordon Angling Centre came out on top and have a 1 point lead over Allans Marine Black and sets the scene for the last round showdown at Passies on the 11th September. On paper Bordon are now slight favourites because they won at Passies in the first round of the Summer League, but the Allans Marine Squad were under par that day (due to a Wedding reception the night before) and are out for revenge.
